DaySpring Counseling Center

Dayspring counseling Center provides personal counseling opportunities for people of all faiths as well as those who profess no religious beliefs. Founded in 1995, Dayspring is a cooperative effort of the Georgia Association for Pastoral Care and the following East Cobb churches: Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Some of the issues that are frequently addressed with Dayspring counselors are:

  • Marital & Family Conflict
  • Depression & Anxiety
  • Personal Relationships
  • Loss & Grief
  • Trauma & Abuse

You will meet with a pastoral counselor, a minister educated in theology and trained in psychotherapy. They are certified by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and licensed by the State of Georgia. GAPC also staffs a consulting psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and a licensed clinical social worker.

Your visits are private. All client information is held in strict confidence. GAPC honors its obligation to safeguard personal details obtained through counseling.

Session fees are flexible and are agreed upon during your first meeting. Scholarships are also available. Your pastoral counselor can answer any questions in confidence based on your individual circumstances. Our mission is to provide counseling for everyone regardless of financial status.

STAFF

Timothy R Thomas, M Div

Tim is a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He practices both brief and extended psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families. He responds to personal and relationship problems within the belief system of the persons seeking help. Tim is the Director of the Dayspring Counseling Center.

More About GAPC

Georgia Association of Pastoral Counselors was founded in 1962 as a non-profit, cooperative endeavor of Columbia Theological Seminary, Emory University's Candler School of Theology and School of Medicine and the Christian Council of Metropolitan Atlanta. GAPC provides pastoral counseling through its central office and satellite centers. GAPC received the 1995 Distinguished Program Leadership Award of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
