Resurrection
Music
Our Mission: To praise God through the gift of music, in its
many forms and styles; additionally using music to inspire, teach and
evangelize.
"Resurrection Music" brings together all the people and groups that
make music at LCR.
Resurrection Music helps us focus on what God has done - not on what we
do. This is the message we bring to the community as we look for ways to
evangelize through music. Resurrection Music also connects us to the The
Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and the ministry that we strive to do
together.
We've got some exciting things planned and we invite you to join us!
If you sing or play and instrument and have considered sharing your
gifts in worship, please consider one of our musical groups:
- The Celebration Choir sings for the 8:30am service each
week from September to mid-June. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights
at 7:00pm (different in summer). All singers are welcome.
- The Praise Team sings at the 11:00am service each week of the
year. Rehearsals take place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month
beginning at 8:00pm. We are currently looking for singers and
instrumentalists (especially guitarists and bass guitarists) to serve as
substitutes/alternates to fill out the group each Sunday.
- Joyful Noise is the music program for Sunday
School students Pre-K through grade 6. Held during the first 15 minutes
of each Sunday School hour, the children learn songs of faith to share
in worship, as well as music for the annual December Christmas Pageant.
The 5th and 6th graders participate in a Rhythm Band to accompany the
singing.
- The Alleluia Choir is for children in grades K-5, meeting on
Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 7:00pm. Through singing new music and
hymns of the faith, playing musical games, sharing Bible stories and
fellowship, children will gain a deeper appreciation of worship and
music of the church while growing in their faith. The children will sing
in worship at various times throughout the program year. 5th graders are
given a special leadership role.
- Joyful Noise Ringers includes anyone interested in ringing
tone chimes to enhance worship. All ages are welcome; ring as a family!
Contact Helen Phelps for details.
- Instruments of Praise includes the many instrumentalists in
our congregation who contribute to worship with their music. Contact Helen
Phelps to share your musical gifts.
