Circle Of Friends Disabilities Ministry

LCR’s Circle of Friends ministry offers events of fun and fellowship for people with developmental disabilities such as mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, and related disabilities. The program provides a respite for parents and other caregivers, and also fosters friendships between participants and LCR members.

Events are generally held on the second Sunday of odd months from 4:00pm - 7:00pm in the LCR Gathering Room. 2008 dates are as follows:

  • January 13, 2008
  • March 9, 2008
  • May 4, 2008
  • July 13, 2008
  • September 14, 2008
  • November 9, 2008

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Program Organization – Work with others to plan crafts, games, music and other creative activities.
  • Participant “Friends” – Attend events and form rewarding relationships with a fun group of friends! Orientation of new volunteers provided. Youth, age 12+, are welcome.
  • Food Preparation – Prepare a light meal at church during program.
